The Monte Bello vineyard, originally planted in 1886 and slowly replanted since the 1960s, is situated high atop the Santa Cruz Mountains. The high altitude vineyard, planted in decomposing limestone and Franciscan rock, is heavily influenced by the cooling breezes from the Pacific Ocean. These famed vines produce a Cabernet Sauvignon wine unlike any other.
Tasting Notes: The 2016 Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a saturated purple in color. Aromas of cassis, blueberry, cola, licorice, and sweet oak. Ripe blackberry fruit entry, full bodied, rich textures, exotic spice and toasted oak. Complex, long, sensuous finish.
